New Energy Vehicle GWM Haval Big Dog Plug-in Hybrid Electric Car Second Generation
Appearance
The Haval Big Dog gained attention for its rugged design, and the second-generation model builds on this with a larger size, higher specs, and upgraded powertrains. Its front face retains the original style but adds refined details, like the polygonal elements on the grille and a through-type decorative panel connecting the retro round headlights, resembling ski goggles. These classic round lights echo the style of many iconic off-road SUVs. As a light off-road SUV, the addition of a sturdy aluminum alloy luggage rack not only enhances its rugged look but also offers practical functionality for outdoor adventures.
Interior
The interior features a large screen, emphasizing a sense of technology, while exposed rivets and air outlets with sharp lines highlight the hard-core off-road style. Doors are wrapped in soft materials like leather, and the thick, rivet-decorated door handles have an imitation carbon fiber texture. Officially, the handles can withstand 45kg of tension. The 12.3-inch full LCD instrument panel ensures quick reading of key information, complemented by a "small brim" that displays the gear position and helps block sunlight.
Performance and POWER
The second-generation Haval Big Dog delivers outstanding power performance with various powertrain options. The fuel version includes 1.5T and 2.0T engines. The 1.5T outputs 135kW (184hp) and 275Nm, paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, achieving 0-100 km/h in 8.91 seconds and 7.64L/100km WLTC fuel consumption. The 2.0T delivers 175kW (238hp) and 385Nm, matched with a 9-speed wet dual-clutch, featuring intelligent four-wheel drive, a rear axle differential lock, and nine terrain modes.
The plug-in hybrid (DHT-PHEV) version combines a 1.5T engine with a 2-speed DHT, delivering 240kW and 530Nm, a 105km NEDC pure electric range, 1000km total range, and 1.85L/100km fuel consumption. The Hi4 hybrid pairs a 1.5T engine with dual motors, generating 278kW and 750Nm, accelerating 0-100 km/h in 6.3 seconds with 1.83L/100km WLTC consumption. Both hybrids feature 7 driving modes.
