The Golf is a very important model under Volkswagen. It has gone through 8 generations of evolution over decades of history. This year, the 8.5-generation model was upgraded. The domestic version was finally equipped with a new 1.5T engine. However, the ordinary 1.5T version of the Golf is really just for home use and is a means of transportation. If you want to pursue more fun, you have to upgrade to the Golf GTI model. The new 2025 model is the 8.5-generation model, and the previous listing guide price is 209,900 yuan.
Compared with the earlier 2023 model's guide price of 229,800 yuan, there has actually been a price reduction of nearly 20,000 yuan, which does show some sincerity. But after all, it is still in the price range of more than 200,000 yuan, which does not seem to be very friendly to young people, but this type of car is just for young people. Recently, Volkswagen has made concessions and provided the so-called realistic transaction price, that is, the fixed price model has achieved 194,999 yuan, which is nearly 15,000 yuan lower than the guide price.
This time, the new 2025 model's exterior design has some small changes in details. The total length of the body is 4289mm, the width is 1788mm, and the wheelbase is 2631mm. It is indeed an entry-level compact car. If compared with family sedans such as Lavida, Sylphy and Corolla, the wheelbase is a bit different, but it is basically enough for daily family use.
Compared with the ordinary version of Golf, the appearance of Golf GTI is quite different. After all, this version has undergone factory modification. There is an exclusive GTI badge on the front of the car, and a larger sports grille. The factory provides petal-shaped sports wheels and red brake calipers on the side of the body. In addition to the modified-style dual exhaust at the rear, there is also a small spoiler decoration at the end of the roof.
The sporty atmosphere can be felt in the interior details, such as the exclusive red line decoration on the steering wheel, and the UI interface of the digital LCD instrument panel is also customized, which looks more combat-like than the ordinary version. This time, the 2025 Golf GTI has also upgraded the 12.9-inch floating car screen, and supports 5G network interconnection, and its intelligent performance has been improved.
Unfortunately, the 8th and a half generation Golf GTI still uses the old 2.0T engine, which has an output of 220 horsepower. Compared with the new European version, the power parameters are obviously weaker. However, the power tuning has been optimized, and the 0-100 acceleration performance of the 2025 model has been upgraded to 6.9 seconds. In contrast, the previous 2023 model was 7.2 seconds, so the push-back feeling of this hot hatch model has been slightly improved. Of course, the biggest selling point is the handling quality of the high-horsepower front-wheel drive hot hatch model.
